About Phi Kappa Phi
Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society was founded in 1897 at the University of Maine. The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is one of the nation's oldest and largest honor societies, and is a charter member of the Association of College Honor Societies.
Membership draws from across the globe and across all academic disciplines. As such, Phi Kappa Phi is uniquely positioned to cultivate interdisciplinary inquiry and connections, both locally and globally. Membership is by invitation.
Originally chartered on June 12, 1920, Maryland became the 22nd chapter of the Society. College Park reaffirmed its Chapter on April 28th, 2010 as Chapter 22CP. Phi Kappa Phi remains strong in its 90th year on campus. Phi Kappa Phi is the University of Maryland’s oldest honor society.

Chapter Meetings
Chapter 22 of Phi Kappa Phi served multiple campuses for the University System of Maryland. In 2010, campuses such
as College Park established its own, unique chapter – 22CP. While inductions, fellowship selections and an active
student chapter have continued, there was no legacy of meetings or a governance structure. We have scheduled two
meetings this spring semester and encourage each and every one of you to consider attending. The chapter is at a
transformational moment, potentially positioned to advance the academic life of the campus community. Your input
will prove valuable. Please check your calendars and if available, attend the following meetings:
Friday, March
9th 1-2 p.m., 2106 Marie Mount Hall, and
Monday, April 2nd, 4-5 p.m., 2106 Marie Mount Hall.
